  • 1 (15 ounce) can of green beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can of wax beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced into rings
  • 3/4 cup of white sugar (adjust to taste for less sweetness)
  • 2/3 cup of distilled white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of celery seed

Directions

  1. Assemble all your ingredients.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, wax beans, kidney beans, and onion.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, vinegar, vegetable oil, salt, black pepper, and celery seed until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Pour the dressing over the beans and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 12 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.
