  • 4 pork chops, each about 1 inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Begin by seasoning the pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chops until golden brown, about 4 minutes on each side. Set aside. In the same skillet, add mushrooms, onion, and garlic, sautéing until softened. Pour in chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Return pork chops to the skillet. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes. Remove pork chops. Stir in heavy cream, thyme, and Worcestershire sauce into the skillet. Cook until the sauce thickens. Serve the pork chops covered in mushroom cream sauce.
